FastTrac® TechVenture™

The more you know, and the better your network, the greater our odds of success.  FastTrac® TechVenture™ helps with both.

FastTrac is a 10-module (10 week) program developed by the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation to help entrepreneurs start and grow successful ventures.  We plan to start our next 10-module FastTrac program in the Fall of 2010.   Apply Now!

What Happens After I Apply?

OTBC will review applications to determine whether FastTrac TechVenture is a good fit for the business concept.  We have a limited number of seats available, so we'll offer participation to the applicants who appear to be the best fit for FastTrac®.  The selection of participants is made at OTBC's sole discretion.

What Is FastTrac TechVentures?

FastTrac TechVenture provides the tools participants need to advance their technology venture to the next stage of business, whether it's right at the beginning - evaluating a business concept - or preparing for a first round of funding or moving beyond the start-up stage. The aspiring or experienced FastTrac® TechVenture™ entrepreneur is in the field of technology or life sciences. FastTrac is a 10 week, 10 session program covering topics such as:

  • Explore entrepreneurship
  • Define, size, and segment the market
  • Validate the market and value price the product or service
  • Assess the feasibility of the business
  • Develop a marketing and sales plan
  • Develop financial projections
  • Protect intellectual property
  • Build a start-up team
  • Understand how to get investor ready
  • Set up basic startup operating procedures
  • Develop an elevator pitch, investor pitch, and executive summary

Coaching from experienced entrepreneurs helps you avoid mistakes and launch your startup more quickly and effectively. At the same time, the guest speakers that are a part of every FastTrac session help entrepreneurs build their network, meeting service providers, investors, and other entrepreneurs who can help them succeed.  Bottom line: FastTrac TechVenture provides you with the knowledge, expanded network, and coaching to significantly increase your odds of launching a successful start-up.

Program Schedule

Program participants will meet 10 times from 2pm to 5:30pm in the afternoon at OTBC's facility in Beaverton, Oregon.  The 10 FastTrac modules are:

  • Module 9, Identifying Funding and Working with Investors
  • Module 10, Managing Cash and Operating Your Business

 

Program Cost

The 10-session FastTrac TechVenture program is priced at $650.   To get your entrepreneurial venture off to a strong start, it's a bargain.
