SBIR Conference
On September 17, 2010, Congressman David Wu will host a Funding Innovative Research conference at Portland Community College’s Rock Creek campus to bring together Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) grant program managers from six federal agencies and researchers from around the region. At $2.5 billion, SBIR comprises the largest source of federal investment in small business research and development.
The federal agencies participating in the event are:
- National Institues of Health
- National Science Foundation
- Department of Energy
- Department of Homeland Security
- Department of Transportation
- US Department of Agriculture
The conference will consist of a large-group session with a series of high-profile speakers in the morning, followed by breakout sessions with individual program managers in the afternoon. The afternoon sessions grant attendees a unique opportunity to hear directly from federal agency representatives about what does and does not make for a winning proposal.
Our location and tight timeline necessitate that we have lunch on site this year. To make this as easy as possible, we are charging $10 (plus a nominal fee for using Eventbrite) to cover the cost of box lunches for all attendees. After you register, Kelly Brooks from Congressman David Wu's office will be in touch regarding box lunch options.
