Our goal is to get 100% of the participating companies funded.  Our graduates from boot camp #1 are off to a strong start. OTBC companies have raised almost $20 million in funding since 2007.

What

OTBC Startup Boot Camp is a 10 week intensive boot camp for early-stage  start-up companies to help them get launched and get funded.  Participants will work on their product and customer development, meet and build relationships with investors, collaborate with other participants, learn about the business of start-ups from experienced start-up CEOs, hone their pitch, and, at the end, present their business to a room full of investors.

Why

To help first-time  entrepreneurs beat the odds, get funded,  and become a success.  Getting seed funding in Oregon is a challenge, partly because we have a lot of inexperienced entrepreneurs starting companies, and partly because we have so few successful “exits” that create new angel investors in the community. Our goal is to give boot camp participants an advantage in getting funded and growing a business through intensive coaching from start-up CEOs and through meeting and building relationships with investors.

Details

- 10 weeks of intensive focus with 24/7 access to the open work area in OTBC's facility in Beaverton where participants can work on their product, work with customers, attend seminars and lunches, while learning from and even collaborating with other entrepreneur participants.

- Weekly workshops experienced start-up CEOs, investors, and other business experts with practical advice on the business-side of starting a company.

- Coaching from startup CEOs and investors, and OTBC’s team of 20+ coaches.

- Weekly meetings with investors and start-up CEOs throughout the program

- Pitch coaching from investors, and from OTBC’s coaching team

- Ending with a demo day where participants will pitch a room full of investors.

Who

For teams who are serious about creating a successful tech start-up with significant growth potential, and are willing to put in the time and hard work to make it happen.  We'll accept applications from teams all over Oregon - not just the Portland area.

Our commitment

If participants do the work and take full advantage of the program, they'll be well on their way to revenue, they’ll have worked closely with other entrepreneurs in the program who have the same determination, they'll understand what it takes to close investment dollars to grow your business, and they’ll have gotten to know several investors - and the investors will have gotten to know the entrepreneurs.  And participating entrepreneurs will have expanded their networks to include additional entrepreneurs, investors, and service providers who can help them succeed. And they’ll get a chance to pitch a large group of investors, with help from our investor coaches.

In other words - participants will be well on their way to getting funded.

Cost

$900. Includes 24/7 access to the open-table office space for the entire boot camp period, access to conference rooms, boot camp seminars, and boot camp coaching sessions.

Limited Space

We want to spend plenty of time with each company, so we're looking for just five to ten companies to participate in this first boot camp program.

Frequency

We plan to run boot camps twice a year, in April and September.
